As a New York City civil wedding celebrant, I serve as a marriage
officiant in NYC and throughout the metropolitan area, including New
Jersey.
It is my honor as a NY and NJ wedding officiant to work with
couples to create and conduct customized wedding ceremonies that can
be traditional, spiritual, multi-faith, secular, or very
nontraditional. It is my mission as a marriage officiant to conduct a
wedding ceremony that uniquely reflects the love story of each Bride
and Groom.
Couples who seek out civil wedding officiants typically want a
special ceremony marked by their own beliefs and vows. I am trained in
multi-cultural approaches to wedding ceremonies, and I enjoy including
creative touches in the wedding ceremonies I create.
Typical of wedding celebrants, I follow the wishes of the couple in
setting the tone of the ceremony – formal or informal, spiritual or
secular, serious or light-hearted … but always focusing on the intent
of marriage ceremonies – to tie a couple together in love, trust,
fidelity, and hope for a wonderful life together.
Wedding officiants like me are not constrained by traditional
church wedding ceremony requirements. Civil marriage officiants design
a wedding ceremony to include a couple’s religious beliefs or to be
quite secular based upon the wishes of the couple. A wedding
officiant, however, does comply with the legal requirements of
marriage laws in the ceremony’s locale. As your wedding celebrant, I
assure you that your wedding will be legal!
I am also a wedding celebrant for gay and lesbian commitment
ceremonies. These ceremonies contain vows, exchange of rings, and
other unity rituals at the choice of the couple. As in all weddings,
wedding celebrants work with gay or lesbian couples to have their
ceremony declare their commitment to all who surround them on their
special day.
As your wedding celebrant, I strive to ensure that your wedding
ceremony sets the tone not only for your wedding day, but also for
your marriage. I know you want the moments spent in the ceremony to be
meaningful, not an impersonal perfunctory rite. A hallmark of my
wedding officiant practice is to make your wedding ceremony be that
special moment that starts your life together as a loving married
couple.
